Civic Arts & Cultural District

Photo of Fish Pond Fountain The Civic Arts & Cultural District is the heart of the Naval Training Center. This District comprises twenty-eight acres throughout the historic core of the former naval base and will be housed eventually within twenty-six rehabilitated historic buildings (of which seven have been completely rehabilitated, and eight are currently in the process), totaling approximately 360,000 square feet. The District features galleries, festivals, concerts, and theater, with many other uses possible. Additionally, office space for non-profit organizations and space for specialty retail is available for lease.

The NTC Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation that was formed to develop and operate the Civic Arts & Cultural District. It is through the activities of the Foundation that the District embraces exploration, innovation, and creativity, while fostering a collaborative spirit between tenants and guests. The District showcases the history, culture, skills, and interests that continue to define our community. The activities and entertainment within the District continuously change to appeal to new and returning visitors. With the Civic Arts & Cultural District, NTC opens to the people of San Diego and positions the City as one of the country's major cultural hubs.
